Privacy Policy

Aura Medical ("we", "our", or "the app") is built with privacy as a foundational principle. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles — and what it does not.

Summary

Aura Medical does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app works fully offline. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data processors.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following information locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

Your study progress (which cards you've reviewed and your performance ratings)
Spaced repetition scheduling data (next review dates, ease factors, intervals)
Session history and study statistics (streaks, mastery counts)
Your app preferences (theme, reminder settings)

This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any server we operate. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.

Data We Do Not Collect

No name, email, phone number, or account information
No location data
No device identifiers or advertising IDs (IDFA)
No usage analytics or telemetry
No crash reports sent to third parties
No contacts, photos, or any other on-device data outside the app

Notifications

If you enable Daily Reminders, the app schedules local notifications using iOS's built-in notification framework. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No push notification servers are involved, and no data is sent to us or to Apple beyond what iOS itself manages.

Third-Party Services

Aura Medical does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. The app includes the open-source Kingfisher image library, but it is not used to load any remote images at this time, and no data is transmitted by it.

Children's Privacy

Aura Medical is intended for medical students and clinicians. It does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data at all, it complies with COPPA by design.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy in the future, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
